Facebook VS Facebook Movie

Facebook is a social network service and website launched in February 2004. It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his roommates and fellow computer science students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes that is operated and privately owned by Facebook. Inc. As of July 2010, Facebook has more than 500 million active users. It is truly the world number one cyber social network.

On the other hand, Facebook movie aka 'The Social Network' hits US theatre on 1st October 2010. The movie story adapted screenplay from Ben Mezrich nonfiction book The Accidental Billionaires. It tells the story of how Mark Zuckerberg and others created the Facebook. However, there are debates in the media and blog over how accurate the movie is in portraying the origins of Facebook and the people involved.

Its founder Mark Zuckerberg stated in his interview with Oprah Winfrey that he was not happy with movie which only based on him. He claimed the movie has over dramatized his life and he was portrayed as a 'no friend' guy.

While Facebook is a place of social networking for everyone, some critics have called the movie a 'anti-social' movie. According to CNN that survey shows people's attitudes about the site appear to be affected by movie. It reported young people tended to like the site more since the movie released while the older generation has less supportive.

However, in my opinion that no matter how truthful or how badly the movie was made, Facebook user does not get affected by it. People are happy and content by the space and connection that they got. The only thing which worries them is the freedom and connection may have lost.
